IET Achievement Medals
What are they?
The Achievement Medals are awarded to nominees who have made major and distinguished contributions in the various sectors of engineering and technology. The judging panel will look for outstanding and sustained excellence in one or more activities, for example, research and development, innovation, design, manufacturing, technical management, promotion of engineering and technology.
The Faraday Medal is the most prestigious of the IET Achievement Medals. It is awarded for notable scientific or industrial achievement in engineering, or for conspicuous service rendered to the advancement of science, engineering and technology.
The other medals in the collection include:
- The JJ Thomson Medal for achievement in Electronics
- The Oliver Lodge Medal for achievement in Information Technology.
- The Ambrose Fleming Medal for achievement in Communications
- The Crompton Medal for achievement in Power
- The Coales Medal for achievement in Transport
- The Heaviside Medal for achievement in Control
- The Nuffield Medal for achievement in Manufacturing
- The Sir Monty Finniston Award for achievement in any field of Engineering and Technology
