Mentoring co-ordinators conference

Mentoring co-ordinators act as a local point of contact for the IET mentoring service to provide information and assist members with any mentoring issues. The mentoring co-ordinators conference was last held in April 2007.

A successful mentoring conference was held alongside the members’ spring conference at Savoy Place on 28th and 29th April 2007. The conference enabled mentoring co-ordinators to contribute to the development and promotion of the IET mentoring service and provided an excellent opportunity to gain a greater insight into the IET's activities in 2007 and grow a network of contacts across the IET.

The two day conference included a conference dinner and award ceremony on the evening of Saturday 28th April.

Mentoring co-ordinators were split in to groups to undertake tasks on mentor recruitment, mentoring service requirements and mentoring promotion.

The IET Mentoring Service Award was presented for the first time to recognise the success that mentoring plays within the IET. The award was presented to Mr John Lorriman, mentoring co-ordinator and mentor for Coventry and Warwickshire network for his long standing commitment to mentoring and raising the standards of mentor training.
