About this event
This event and the complementary one day event on Climate Change Technologies (CCT) will provide a unique overview and grounding for emerging processes, technologies and markets. The CCT event will look at Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emission Reduction, including technology update, whilst the Carbon Trading event will look at the existing and emerging markets developing for carbon trading which is becoming an industry hot topic.
The sector is aware that this area will be expanding but there are still many clarity questions being asked. The importance for the UK and Europe to engage in this topic was highlighted in the UK Energy White Paper 2007.
Scope
The main scope of the Carbon Trading event will be to review progress reports on GHG reduction programs and GHG trading schemes in the UK, Europe and the rest of the world. A review of international initiatives to develop standards and protocols for GHG inventories, and for quantifying (measuring, monitoring, verifying and certifying) GHG emission credits will also be provided.
