Mr Stephen Darvill

Stephen Darvill has forty years experience in the IT services industry.  Starting as a systems engineer designing hardware and software for process control and commercial real time computing applications, his career has progressed through project management and sales and marketing roles into line management, strategy and business development.  His experience includes UK and overseas work, designing, selling, implementing and supporting systems and services for public and private sector organisations.

After initial employment with GEC and with Honeywell he has worked since 1985 for LogicaCMG in a variety of roles including Sales & Marketing, Line Management, UK and International Business Development.  He is currently Government Relations Director, responsible for establishing and managing the relationship of LogicaCMG, as a key IT services supplier to the UK Public Sector, with people and organisations influencing the implementation of the transformational government strategy.

Stephen is a Council Member of EURIM, Chair of the EURIM Personal Identity and Data Sharing Group, and Vice Chair of the EURIM Transformational Government Group.  He is a Council Member of PITCOM, Chair of the Intellect Professionalism Working Group, Vice Chair of the Intellect Government Group and a member of other Intellect working groups.  He is a member of the BCS Professionalism Executive Board, the BCS Government Relations Group and the Skills Steering Group on the Information Age Partnership Productivity and Competitiveness Work Group. 

Stephen is a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology, a Fellow of the British Computer Society and a Chartered IT Professional.  He has an MA from Cambridge in engineering and material science and a postgraduate Diploma in Management Studies.
