The new Engineering & Technology magazine
Introducing the exciting developments for our flagship magazine Engineering & Technology.
The new Engineering & Technology magazine
We are delighted to announce an exciting development for our flagship magazine, Engineering & Technology. Starting in January 2008, Engineering & Technology will appear 21 times a year rather than the current 12. Not only will the magazine become more frequent but it will also now include coverage of the industry sectors currently covered by our professional magazines.
As you will be aware, The IET's professional magazines currently appear six times a year. By including these within the new enlarged format and increasing the frequency with which we report on these important sectors, we will be able to provide more up-to-date and in-depth coverage. Readers will also have access to a broader range of material without having to order copies of additional professional magazines.
This new format will reflect the inter-disciplinary nature of The IET and the world in which engineers and technologists work. We believe our profession deserves a high-quality publication which covers news, features and analysis and that The IET is ideally placed to provide this.
The decision to increase the frequency with which we produce Engineering & Technology and bring all the sector content within this publication was taken after research among members. Discussions were also held with the Board of Trustees and Council. The proposal received overwhelming support and was felt to be a positive move and one which would be welcomed by members.
This is a valuable addition to the member offering and one which is unrivalled by other institutions. The magazine is available to all 153,000 IET members and may soon be available via subscription to those outside the Institution.
Our publications are a key part of The IET’s Knowledge Network and are highly valued by members. When prospective members consider joining The IET, this magazine will play a key part in positively influencing their decision.
All the staff currently involved in producing Engineering & Technology and the seven sector magazines will now work on the new publication. This is a very talented team and they bring with them a great deal of expertise and knowledge of their sectors.
